Who We Are:

HeartSafe Hoops is a pre-501 (c) (3) mission-driven community made up of high school, college, and pro athletes, coaches, survivors of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA), family members or friends who have tragically lost a loved one to SCA, nurses, physicians, first responders, hospital and health system executives, and other servant leaders. Together, we’re passionate about reducing the incidence of SCA and sudden cardiac death (SCD), and improving outcomes when they do occur.

How We WIN:

Pillar 1- We're running this race to win — by expanding access to low-cost ECG screening nationally, finding at-risk athletes before collapse, and elevating the standard of care.

Unfortunately, the reality is that even the best screening can't prevent every cardiac arrest. So what happens when it happens on your home court? Are you prepared to have someone call 911 immediately and put them on speakerphone to help you? To send someone immediately to get the AED (Automatic External Defibrillator) and to be able to use it within 3-5 minutes before paramedics arrive? Do you know how to administer CPR and that it needs to begin immediately and continue until an AED can be used?

If you or your team/organization’s answer to any of these questions is no, we’re not here to judge you, we’re here to support you.

Pillar 2- When SCA does occur, we want to help you be prepared to ACT fast with courage and confidence. That's why HeartSafe Hoops delivers workshops designed to train athletes, coaches, teams, and communities in CPR and AED use — building the life-saving skills AND leadership mindset to lead when it matters most.
